THE FIRST ONCE. Slavia Prague is the only club from our part of Europe that has won the quarter-finals of the European Cup this season. We can envy our southern neighbors, but on the other hand, we should take the example of Slavia. Roasting for the first time they broke into this stage in this competition. They will play for the semifinal with the winner of the Europa League in 2013, Chelsea London. This will be the first meeting between these clubs.
- Slavia Prague – debuts in the quarterfinals of the Europa League, but in the predecessor of the Europa League – PUEFA played even in the semi-final (1995/96), and in the quarterfinals (1999/2000). In this edition, Prazanie took second place in Group C behind Zenit Petersburg, collecting 10 points. Later in the knockout phase, they first eliminated Belgian Genk, away Slavia won 4: 1 and drew 0-0 at home. In the 1/8 finals they faced Sevilla and it was a very dramatic confrontation. Both matches ended with the results 2: 2, the decision was made in extra time, which Slavia won 2-1.
- Chelsea – This is what the Blues coach Maurizio Sarri said before the match in Prague: “We must be very careful. This is a very dangerous opponent who scored 6 goals in matches against Sevilla. They are very fast, so we have to be very careful in the defense. They can attack five or six players. Slavia played on Saturday, and we on Monday – I do not know why. I will have to make changes in the line-up, I will make five or six changes. “In this edition of the Europa League, Chelsea won 9 out of 10 matches, and in the 1/8 finals, she defeated Dynamo Kiev – 3-0 at home and 5-0 at home.
Forecast: Chelsea has been in Prague three times and has not lost a goal yet. In the last two such meetings she defeated Sparta, in both cases 1: 0. Slavia in this edition of the Europa League has not lost at home yet, and in four of the five meetings she managed to keep a clean sheet. Chelsea, in turn, has not lost any of the last 13 matches in the Europa League. Maurizio Sarri announces castles in the line-up, but nevertheless I think that guests will find a way to Slavia and make a modest victory. Proposed types: Chelsea victory – odds 1.71 / Chelsea and under 3.5 goals – odds 2.29.
