Hannover have sacked head coach Thomas Schaaf with the club rooted to the bottom of the Bundesliga.
The German side released a statement saying the decision was taken following “intensive analysis” by club chief Martin Kind and sporting director Martin Bader involving Schaaf. Former U19 coach Daniel Stendel will take over until the end of the season.
Hannover are bottom of the league, 10 points from safety, and lost 3-0 at home to Hamburg on Saturday, their 10th loss in the last 11 games.
Schaaf, who coached Werder Bremen for 14 years, had taken over Hannover during the Bundesliga’s winter break but managed only one win from 11 matches.
